BMM 2021 – Our 2022 Honorees

In honor of #BlackMusicMonth & our 30th Anniversary, we posted retrospectives of our past awards dinners & honorees.

It was musical history revisiting all of those legendary music executives, radio personalities and retailers on whose shoulders we stand. If you missed any of it, please scroll our page and learn about these honorees.  Originally scheduled for 2020, the pandemic forced the cancellation of the Awards gala for the past 2 years.  Before the world shut down in March 2020,  we had announced the next set of honorees and we are so appreciative to them for their patience.  We look forward to celebrating them in person at the Taglyan Cultural Center in Hollywood on October 7, 2022.  Save that date and plan to be there!  The honorees will be:

Top row L-R:  Ronald “Baby” Williams and Bryan “Slim” Williams, co-founders of Cash Money will be presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award; Sharon Heyward, music industry executive at Perspective, Virgin and Harmony Records will receive the A.D. Washington Chairman’s Award; Charlamagne Tha God, entertainment personality, author and co-host of the nationally syndicated radio show The Breakfast Club will receive the Jerry Boulding Radio Award.

2nd row L-R:  Geo Bivins, music industry consultant, formerly RCA Records, will receive the Music Executive Award; Johnnie Walker, Founder and CEO of the National Association of Black Female Executives in Music & Entertainment (NABFEME) will receive the Mike Bernardo Female Executive Award; Tuma Basa, Director, Urban Music at YouTube will receive the Digital Executive Award and Hank Caldwell, music industry veteran of WEA, Atlantic, SOLAR, Epic and Death Row Records will receive The Founder’s Award.

We honor their contributions to the music industry.  Full bios will be at livinglegendsfoundation.com.
