BBM Profile: Dee Dee Murray

My career began over 30 years ago at Turtles Records & Tapes.  My journey has included WEAS Radio in Savannah as News Director and Talk show hostess, V-103 in Atlanta, and Capitol Records coordinating national radio promotions for Freddie Jackson, The Whispers, The Gap Band, Full Force and MC Hammer, among others.   I held executive positions at Savvy Records (the label of Perri “Pebbles” Reid) and Organized Noize Productions working with the Dungeon Family Artists including Outkast and Goodie Mob.

In 2000, Murray Media Music was established providing administrative services to creatives. I was also GM of Purple Ribbon Records (Big Boi, Outkast label) and Executive Director of Clifford “T.I.” Harris’s, K.I.N.G. Foundation.

In 2016, I began pursuing a career in the film and television industry facilitating film permits working on movies such as Fast 8, I Tonya, Baby Driver, Game Night, and Den of Thieves. Currently I contract my services to The DeKalb Entertainment Commission facilitating film permits for the county.

Sounds of Blackness “Optimistic” is a song that inspires me to keep my sights set on high and have a positive attitude towards all things.
