BMM 2021 – Our 1998 Honorees

It’s 1998 and we’re in Reno, Nevada at the Impact Super Summit. In celebration of #BlackMusicMonth & our 30th Anniversary, we are remembering our past awards dinners and honorees. Kedar Massenburg was the Dinner Chairman and Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis were the Co-Chairs.  Brian McKnight was the host and Taj Mahal and Kevin Ford were the entertainment.  It was quite a night! The honorees were:

L-R: Violet Brown, Urban Music Buyer for The Wherehouse 224 stores; Henry Allen, Sr VP Atlantic Records, President Cotillion Records; Eula Mae Hatter, “First Lady Of Gospel”, WXOX Baton Rouge

L-R:  Willie Barney, owner Barney’s One Stop Records, Chicago; Winston “Buzzy” Willis, VP RCA, SVP Polygram, CEO CTI, President One World Entertainment; Diamond Jim Sears, GM, WEBB Baltimore & sales exec at WEDR Miami

Some of these honorees are no longer with us but their contributions to the Black Music industry will never be forgotten.
