BHM 2020 – Lenny Green

I fell in love with music at the age of 9 and wanted to be a singer. By college, I embraced radio and have worked in small markets, the number one market in the country and across the country as a nationally syndicated radio host. The Quiet Storm can be heard in New York, North Carolina, Georgia, Oklahoma, Miami, Alabama and Nassau Bahamas.

There have been several personalities who have influenced my career. I now have the pleasure of sitting in the seat of the one I grew up listening to, Mr. Vaughn Harper. What I adapted most from Vaughn and other golden voices in radio was their sophisticated delivery and warmth that came across the airwaves into the homes and hearts of the listeners.

What I liked about Vaughn Harper was his rich voice and verbal swag as well as his ability to touch lives with the music he played.  By listening to those who came before me, I was able to develop my own presentation and ways of connecting with the listeners.

I’ve had many moments of fulfillment so it would be hard to pick just one. Throughout my many years of connecting with listeners, I’ve been blessed to receive numerous awards and accolades. However, my true joy comes from touching lives and seeing people happy. The exchange that I receive from my listening audience, allows me to feel I’ve accomplished my mission and am using my God-given gift to enrich the lives of others.
