I got the music bug following my cousins Ahmed and Otis around, dancers for the group 3rd Bass.  I knew I wanted to do something in the music business so I went to Five Towns College for Business Management/Music Business.

I had a few internships from Frontline Promotions, A&M and Perspective Records.  I worked for Venus Bivins of Motown/Biv 10 Records and she really helped me polish my marketing and tour management skills. My first tour was the New Edition, 702 & LSG tour.

After Biv 10, I worked at Sony Music in their Accounting dept. before making the transition to Epic Records.  When Epic & Columbia became Sony Urban, I was able to be in the room and help pick Beyonce’s first single off her debut solo album. “Crazy In Love” became her first #1 single as a solo artist (so proud of that).

In 2003 I took my talent to South Beach where I worked at a start-up record label, SoBe Entertainment before heading back to NY to join Mathew Knowles’ new label, Sanctuary Urban Records/Music World Entertainment.  My job evolved, setting up a lot of events & traveling with Ray J.  I am so proud of the man that he has become.

In 2006 I moved to Houston to work directly for Music World and was promoted to Manager of Promotions for the Southeast in Atlanta.   I  decided to  leave the music industry but stayed in Atlanta working for such companies as Turner Broadcasting/Cartoon Network and Cox Automotive, working on various events.

I am currently the Events Manager for the non-profit, TechBridge, whose mission is to use technology to break the cycle of poverty.  We help other nonprofits to get the tools they need to gain insight, collaborate on services, and provide access to opportunity for the people they serve.  I recently got married and have a 2 year old daughter.

I want to say to Rodney Shealey, Kathi Moore, David “DL” Lawrence and Johnna Lister – Thank you for taking a chance on me.  I love you guys!

The song that has inspired me throughout my journey is Whitney Houston’s “Greatest Love of All”.  In order for me to love anyone else I had to love myself first.  That took a while but I am finally there.
