BBM Profile: Wendy Washington

I’ve held several PR and marketing positions at labels from Senior Vice President of public relations for Universal and Motown Records, Executive Vice President at Jive Records and oversaw marketing and operations for Sony Music’s RED Associated labels.  It’s been a privilege to be a part of launching artists early on in their careers such as Erykah Badu, Lil’ Wayne, Nelly, OutKast and The Notorious B.I.G., working with legends like Stevie Wonder, Teena Marie and Rakim and pop superstars including P!nk, Britney Spears and Chris Brown.

Three years ago, I partnered with colleagues to launch a marketing/media relations firm, The TID Agency.  The agency offers a range of services including PR, marketing and specializes in creating community-driven experiences (experiential marketing, events and pop-up activations) to foster awareness, promotions, social media engagement and sales.  TID clients include Sirius XM, BET Network, Urban One (Interactive One, Radio One and TV One), Toyota Music, Burrell Communications, 2 Chainz, Maxwell, Hana Road Music Group, Hezekiah Walker and Sony Music’s Thread Shop among others. We specialize in working closely with clients to create a narrative for a project or product, provide calls to action (CTA’s) and deliver tangible results.  Through the company, I’m pleased to be able to apply my skills and connections to projects and causes that I’m personally in alignment with from politics and voter registration to music and film.

I’m inspired by many songs, one being Yuna’s “Live Your Life”.  The message to me is: don’t ever allow any anyone or any situation to put a ceiling on your ambitions, box you in or be dismissive your ideas and vision.
