Sam is a graduate of Morgan State University and holds a B.A. in Mass Media Communications, with a concentration in Radio & Television Production. She began her career as an on-air radio personality at her college station, WEAA-88.9 FM, hosting her own Friday night Hip-Hop show called Strictly Hip-Hop before landing an internship with the local Radio One station in the market ,92Q \u2013 WERQ, FM. She went from intern to Assistant Music Director and maintained her on-air shift hosting a weekly hip-hop show called The Rap Attack.<\/p>\n
Sam transitioned to the music label side of the industry holding positions at Jive Records and an independent promotion company, Active Industry Research (A.I.R.). Throughout her career, she has been an integral part of building the urban radio campaigns for her artists.<\/p>\n
She has been recognized on Billboard\u2019s Women In Music Executives list, Variety Magazine\u2019s New York Women\u2019s Impact Report, Variety Magazine\u2019s Hitmakers list, Billboard Magazine\u2019s Top 40 Under 40: Music\u2019s Top Young Power Player list, ASCAP\u2019s \u201cWomen Behind The Music\u201d and was recently named a Billboard R&B\/Hip-Hop Power Player, Billboard Executive of the Week and Variety Magazine Power of Women.<\/p>\n
