Since joining the company in 2001, James helped launch the Los Angeles office and has established a solid reputation as a respected music industry executive.<\/p>\n<p>Originally from Montclair, New Jersey, he moved to Los Angeles as a teenager. He majored in broadcast management with a minor in TV production at Pepperdine University. He began his career at Famous Music, where he was responsible for signing hit writer\/artist\/producer, Akon. Then he worked at Michael Jackson\u2019s prestigious ATV Music for seven years, mostly as Director of Creative Affairs.<\/p>\n<p>Following his work with Michael Jackson, Leach entered the music supervision field, serving as Music Consultant &amp; Coordinator for the groundbreaking urban TV series, <em>New York Undercover<\/em>. In addition, he later worked as Music Supervisor for Fox Television for two years, before joining SESAC.<\/p>\n<p>James has served on the Los Angeles board of the AIMP, was a former LA Chapter Governor of The Recording Academy, former President &amp; current board member of the California Copyright Conference and has received various music Industry acknowledgements, including the Entertainment Advocate Award from the Living Legends Foundation.
