In celebration of #BlackMusicMonth &amp; our 30<sup>th<\/sup> Anniversary, we remember that night! \u00a0We held the dinner again at the Impact SuperSummit at the Bally\u2019s Park Place Casino Hotel in Atlantic City.\u00a0 Elroy Smith was the Dinner Chairman and the Honorary Chairman was Melvin Van Peebles! The evening\u2019s hosts were Patti LaBelle and Doug Banks and we had a special surprise guest in the audience \u2013 Lena Horne!\u00a0 The entire room was buzzing when she entered the room.\u00a0 Perspective once again provided the entertainment featuring a performance by SOLO.\u00a0 The 1995 honorees were:<\/p>\n<p>L-R: Mildred Carter, owner KPRS, Kansas City; August Sims, manager Jackie Wilson &amp; indie promotion\/marketing; Ron Mosely, independent producer\/writer, Co-Founder Sussex Records &amp; Promotion Exec at MGM, Warner Bros, ABC\/Dunhill, Capitol, Polydor, RCA &amp; indie promotion; Jerry Rushin, VP\/ GM WEDR, Miami<\/p>\n<p>L-R: Enoch Gregory, \u201cThe Master Blaster\u201d, WNJR, WWRL in NYC &amp; WCHB Detroit; Sylvia Robinson, singer\/songwriter\/producer, Co-Founder All Platinum Records &amp; Sugar Hill Records; Granville \u201cGranny\u201d White, National Field Promotion Manager, CBS Records &amp; indie promotion.<\/p>\n<p>Some of these honorees are no longer with us but their contributions to the Black Music industry will never be forgotten.<\/p>\n<p>Full bios will be at livinglegendsfoundation.com<\/p>\n<p>#livinglegendsfoundation30 #musicdaypodcast #BlackMusic365 #tellourownstories<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Were you at the 1995 awards dinner?
