\"\"We\u2019re remembering various clubs in Detroit that were very supportive of the record labels and the radio stations – Club Chic, The Warehouse Club, Rivertown Club, The Lady, Club UBQ and Club Taboo! \u00a0 WJLB and WGPR hosted weekly events and the labels showcased new artists and brought their established artists to sign autographs. \u00a0The promotion reps supported each other\u2019s events and it wasn\u2019t unusual to see radio personalities hanging out at a competing station\u2019s event.<\/p>\n

Who did you see there? \u00a0George Clinton, Natalie Cole, Cheryl Lynn, Freddie Jackson, Melba \"\" Moore were just some of the artists who graced the stage, to the delight of their fans. \u00a0Larry Doc Elliott from WJLB would host nights at River Town, Club Taboo AND The Lady! John Edwards and Lynn Briggs from WJLB would host nights at Club Chic on 8 Mile Road and Foody on WGPR hosted Club UBQ. \u00a0 Share some of your memories of these clubs!<\/p>\n
