I can remember going to radio stations, concerts & industry dinners at a young age.\u00a0 One of my earliest memories is jumping on stage to dance at a concert. I had NO fear.<\/p>\n
Growing up I watched my father work hard. Seeing the cultivation of an artist & project grow into something was inspiring for me. I wanted to be part of this culture that sets trends, creates experiences & changes lives.\u00a0 I\u2019ve had the privilege to hear stories about my grandfather pioneering the way for what is now respected as \u201curban\u201d music. When I hear of his accomplishments & of the person he was, it is a defining moment for me.<\/p>\n
I worked in high school. My parents made sure I kept busy. While attending FAMU, I was a Leasing Agent. After college, I began working with my father. For the past four years I worked for Epic Records as the Midwest Regional Director. I joined Roc Nation in the Fall of 2018.<\/p>\n
My ultimate goal is growth. I find we use that word so much in this industry & it can take on many meanings. For me it is growing in my career, character, relationships & legacy. \u00a0I am grateful for my village of people who have taken time to show me the way. My goal is to always reflect the knowledge & support they have given me.<\/p>\n
Social media & music streaming have had huge impacts on the way we promote artists, on the way music is disseminated & how we find talent. Although these factors have made influential changes to the industry, I still believe radio is a strong voice for the community.<\/p>\n
I see the future of the industry continuing to evolve, respect & support the sounds & voices of our artists. I am also in awe of and encouraged by the number of young black executives in the music industry. This inspires & shows me the future is bright.<\/p>\n
My inspirational song is \u201c<\/em>Formation\u201d by Beyonc\u00e9, because everything she says in the song is relevant. She speaks on women and is using her platform to promote female empowerment.
