Jay Johnson, Advisory Board member, is a veteran radio programmer. “Super Jay” was an institution at WTLC in Indianapolis and, in our estimation, one of the reasons the station and the Indiana Black Expo was so successful! He created promotions and events for the station and the ratings soared. He and the late Al Hobbs were great partners and leaders in the community.
In addition to WTLC, his career includes WVON Chicago, WBBM-TV Chicago, WISH-TV Indianapolis, ABC Radio Networks Dallas and Westwood One Los Angeles. He currently runs Jay Johnson Enterprises, jjevoiceworks.com, handling voiceovers for a wide array of clients.
He’s been awarded Billboard Announcer of the Year and Program Director of the Year and received the BRE Announcer of the Year twice as well as the BRE Program Director of the Year. He’s also the voice of the Living Legends Foundation podcast/vodcast, Music Day: A Verified Hit.
