Black Music Month Remembers Bryant Bee Violator Prescott

It didn’t take long for Bryant “Bee Violator” Prescott to come into his own.  After graduating from Stevenson High School and obtaining his first job with the Bronx Park and Recreations Department, Prescott, a New York native, set his sights on the music industry.  In short order, Bryant had reinvented himself and taken on the legendary alter ego, “Bee Violator/Big B.”

Bryant would go on to work with legends Kool DJ Red Alert, his cousin, music executive Chris Lighty, De La Soul, Jungle Brothers, and more of New York’s personalities.  In 1988, Bryant and his family moved to Atlanta so he could broaden his career in the music industry.  Once there, Bee worked with various radio stations and became singer Usher Raymond’s road manager.  He also worked for Ichiban, Arista, LaFace, and So So Def Recordings handling street teams.  Later, Bryant co-founded a lifestyle marketing company with his friend Brigette Gary called B-N-C Productions.

Bryant “Bee Violator” Prescott died January 9, 2020, at the age of 51.  Legends are defined by their work and how it impacts the culture.  We remember Bryant “Bee Violator” Prescott so others don’t forget.
