Today, the Living Legends Foundation is celebrating the Heroes of Black Music & Culture. Join us in congratulating RIC ROSS, Founder and CEO of the Music Education Group, our recognized “Hero Behind The Culture”.
Ric Ross is a community leader, entrepreneur, artist, and former music industry executive turned advocate for running, wellness, and youth empowerment. His Music Education Group (MEG) is a nonprofit teaching life skills and career development through music, film, and digital media. He is also the Owner of Big Peach Running Co., South Fulton, Georgia’s first Black-owned specialty running store.
Ric’s 37-year music industry career began at the Music Business Institute in Atlanta. He went on to serve as Regional Promotion Manager for major labels such as Warner/Elektra/Atlantic (WEA), Reprise, Elektra, Atlantic, Island Black Music, and Capitol Records, eventually becoming National Director of R&B Promotions at Capitol Music Group.
Now focused on community wellness, Ric founded the Ignite Run Collective and Bold Running Club Apparel, and hosts the podcast “I Can’t Run,” spotlighting running and health in underserved communities.
He currently serves on the advisory board for The Stitch, an Atlanta project reconnecting communities divided by the I-75/85 Connector through green space, mobility improvements, and economic revitalization. He is also a Deacon at Open Word Christian Ministries, where he supports both spiritual and civic outreach.
Ric’s work has earned numerous awards and recognitions. He is an inductee of the National Black Radio Hall of Fame, has received proclamations from the Cities of Atlanta and South Fulton, and was awarded the President’s Volunteer Lifetime Achievement Award in 2024. He also served on the City of South Fulton’s first Development Authority and was named one of Georgia Entertainment’s Top 200 Most Influential People in the Creative Industries.
