We are Madison and Maximilian Shelton, the children of Troy Shelton and siblings who work in the music industry through pathways of music video direction, editing, photography and content creation. We work with up and coming artists as well as creating commercial content for brands and companies such as Sean John, Vic Firth, The NFL and Athleta (Gap). As children we were always curious to see the work that our father did. Spending our childhood watching him conduct business in the backstage of concert halls, the boardrooms of the powerful and the electric recording studios where countless legendary records were being recorded footsteps from us.
Starting with interning for our father organizing papers or listening to boxes of demo tapes, the work ethic he instilled has assisted us at every point. That energy and spirit was always in our blood and despite moments of veering from the path with Madison getting her degree in Anthropology and working in a Smithsonian affiliate museum in Philadelphia, to Maxx deciding to study film instead of Jazz trumpet despite his proficiency. Getting older we realized our true passion was the ability to create content that expresses the essence of music and its connection to the world.
Recent transplants to LA from NJ, as we grow our business in the future we plan to own and operate an elite entertainment company to help create, develop and distribute artists and their music. Growing up in the industry we have seen how the digitization of everything in music has lead to wild highs and even wilder lows. The industry has changed and will continue to change as long as people continue to create and capitalize on music. The difference we feel will be artists having more autonomy and creativity over their work. They will be more than musicians, but content creators.
The songs that are driving and inspiring us through this journey for Maximilian would be A Tribe Called Quest’s hit “Footsteps” and for Madison it would have to be Miles Davis’ version of “Nature Boy”.
