A Detroit native, Miller London was hired by Motown Records in 1969 as the first black salesman for the company or any major record company at that time. He hadn’t even completed college yet, that’s how bad he is! He moved to LA with the company’s exit from Detroit and stayed with them for 21 years with his last position being VP and General Manager.
He went to NY to work for RCA records as VP Marketing and VP of Sales before returning to Los Angeles to serve as Exec.VP & GM, Black Music Division of A&M Records. After two years with A&M, he was hired by Network Magazine Group as President of Urban Network Magazine.
After 9 years, London purchased Urban Network from the then-owners Clear Channel Communications. Urban Network still functions as an online magazine for music and entertainment business.
Because of his history-making entrance to Motown, Miller London’s character can be seen in the stage play “Motown the Musical” which opened on Broadway and toured the U.S. and Europe. Miller served as President of the Living Legends Foundation and is included in The History Makers, which is part of the Library Of Congress.
