We’re celebrating our Advisory Board member, Kevin Ross. CEO of Radio Facts. He is a music industry and radio pro with over 30 years experience. Some people may not know that he started out as a singer! He worked in retail at Turtle’s records in Atlanta and eventually got into radio.
His first job was at WIGO in Atlanta and worked at various radio stations around the country before ending up at KKBT in Los Angeles during its biggest heyday in the early 90s. In 1995, he started the Radio Fax newsletter which turned into the Radio Facts (www.radiofacts.com) website and magazine.
The site serves the urban radio community and beyond nationwide. The magazines are specials which include “We Celebrate Diversity” (June), “Women of Color in Media” (Sept) and “The Power Play List” (Dec).
Kevin also has a non-profit foundation called LOMARI Corp., which helps HBCU students and high school kids interested in a career in the music industry to learn how it works. You can contact Kevin at kevin@radiofacts.com.
