LESTER PACE
Founder of Setting The Pace Promotions

Today, the Living Legends Foundation is celebrating the Heroes of Black Music & Culture. Join us in congratulating LESTER PACE, founder of Setting The Pace Promotions, our recognized “Hero Behind The Culture”.
Houston native Lester Pace is the former Senior Vice President of Radio Promotions at Roc Nation. He began his music career in the early 1990s as a DJ and radio personality at Houston’s KTSU 90.9 and KBXX 97.9 The Box. He later met J. Prince, CEO and founder of Rap-A-Lot Records, who quickly brought him onto the label, where Lester rose to become Southwest Promotions Manager. At Rap-A-Lot, he played a key role in breaking artists like the Geto Boys, Scarface, Hawk, Big Mike and others.
After his time at Rap-A-Lot, Lester became Midsouth Regional Manager at Interscope Records and was later promoted to National Director of Promotions. There, he recognized a gap in support for independent artists and launched Setting the Pace Promotions in 1998, helping propel acts like Yo Gotti, D4L and Boosie. His success as an independent rep attracted offers from multiple labels, before he chose to return to the label side with Roc Nation. Lester’s hunger, grit, and authenticity have sustained his influential career, making his name respected throughout the industry.
As the music industry undergoes a major shift, Lester continues to be a key player. Now transitioning back to the independent side of promotions, he remains committed to showing others how to “set the Pace.” In addition to his work as a record rep, Lester also manages artists—including his latest R&B talent, J. Howell.
Lester Pace refuses to be complacent. His personal motto—an acronym of his last name, PACE: Positive Attitude Changes Everything—keeps him grounded and focused through the daily challenges of the business.

Lester, the Living Legends Foundation recognizes your hard work and love for the culture. We see you and now others will too!
