Today, the Living Legends Foundation is celebrating the Heroes of Black Music & Culture. Join us in congratulating JAY LANG, Station Manager, WHOV, our recognized “Hero Behind The Culture”.

Raised in a broadcasting family, his father, the late Jimmy “The Gator” Lang was a Savannah radio legend for 45 years. Jay began his career in 1974 and has programmed stations in Savannah, Richmond, Atlanta, Norfolk and Washington DC. He has been the Station Manager at Hampton University’s 88.1 WHOV for 15 years and Producer & CEO of the Church Street Jazz Series for the past 11 years. He has hosted numerous radio and entertainment TV shows and was the entertainment editor for Night Moves Magazine in Richmond.

His career includes actor, record producer, concert producer and voice actor for commercial campaigns & corporate projects, including the Museum of African American History & Culture in Washington DC. He is also the author of his first motivational book “Wisdom From The Jazzman”.

Jay was the Personal Manager for Ashley Nichole, Season 6 Actress from “The Bad Girls Club” on The Oxygen Network and is President/CEO of Blue Pyramid Productions LLC, Founder & Chairman of the HJ Lang Foundation, Chairman of the Board for Visit Norfolk, Board Governor of National Association of Non-Profit Organizations & Executives, a member of The 100 Black Men Of Greater Washington, DC, Inc. and was formerly the worldwide booking agent for the legendary 80’s old school band, The Blackbyrds.

His other endeavors include his longtime passion as a musician & songwriter. He was co-writer of Ken Navarro’s Top 5 Smooth Jazz single “You Are Everything” and of the title track on the Bob Baldwin’s CD “Stand Tall”.
