Debb Moore is a trusted, creative radio host, known for her insightful, intimate, humorous, and hard-to-get interviews capturing the essence of great artistic voices and the most talked about talents in all genres of entertainment. They include trailblazers such as Gordon Parks, Sonny Rollins, Abbey Lincoln, Quincy Jones, Wynton Marsalis, Ruby Dee, Angela Bassett, Tavis Smiley, Julie Dash and Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin.
Debb has produced several national programs including “Four Divas of Jazz,” spotlighting the lives & careers of Ella Fitzgerald, Carmen McRae, Billie Holiday and Sarah Vaughan, the weeklong Duke Ellington centennial: “Duke @ 100” and Louis Armstrong titled: “Looking @ Louis,” and most recently “On The ‘Sonny’ Side of Harlem” spotlighting the extraordinary life of saxophonist Sonny Rollins, weaving narratives that connect listeners to the heart of Jazz music. Debb’s influence has extended beyond the airwaves. As a sought–after moderator for industry JazzTimes conventions and IAJE conferences, Debb has helped shape industry conversation about jazz. Debb’s commitment to her community is as deep as her appreciation for Jazz. Debb’s decade long service to the Sadie G. Mays Health & Rehabilitation center as host of SGM’s annual Thanksgiving concert series is a testament to her commitment to uplifting the vulnerable and underserved.
Debb is a graduate of Clark College, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism, is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and a former Miss Black Atlanta! Debb embodies service, hard work, creativity and excellence. Her recent recognition of the 2024 President’s Lifetime Achievement Award is a powerful affirmation of her contributions.
