Today, the Living Legends Foundation is celebrating the Heroes of Black Music & Culture. Join us in congratulating CRAIG KING, Chairman & Co-Founder of Rap Plug Academy and Rap Plug Live, our recognized “Hero Behind The Culture”.
Rap Plug connects, educates and lowers the barrier of entry into our industry. They have partnered with ALX (an online school serving eight countries in Africa including South Africa, Egypt, Ghana, & Nigeria). The Rap Plug Academy has a curriculum that addresses music, production, audio engineering, AI through music, coding through music, among others.
Craig created Rap Plug Masterclasses which bring the music community closer to the everyday student through their Pro Class series, which highlights 50 careers in the music industry that do not require a microphone like producing, songwriting, choreography, DJ-ing, styling, managing, videography, digital marketing, influencers, lawyers, accountants, streaming, etc.
Craig recently inked a joint venture with Quality Control Music and The Hybe Corporation.
He is an honoree of the Lifetime Achievement Award from President Barack Obama for his philanthropy with the youth. A graduate of Howard University, he majored in jazz and classical piano and was recruited to perform with Ray Charles for “The Black Requiem Tour” conducted by Quincy Jones. Craig worked on many Grammy award-winning albums, soundtracks, television shows, commercials, tours and awards ceremonies.
A member of the 100 Black Men of Atlanta class of 2022, Craig has also been recognized as one of AT&T’s Black Future Makers. He has collaborated with various esteemed organizations including Microsoft, SoundCloud, Scooter Braun Projects, Universal Music Group, Apple Music, Madison Square Garden, Nike, T-Mobile, SoundExchange, Foxconn, Serena Williams, Revolt Summit, Reebok, Usher’s New Look Foundation and numerous others. He produced 2 Roll On Sister commercials for Ford.
