He secured a position as the Mix Show Promotion Assistant at Warner Bros. Records in Burbank, CA. After serving 8 months on the job, Wilt was promoted to Southeast Regional Mix Show Manager.

Wilt moved up the ranks at Warner Bros. holding various positions including National Mix Show Manager, Director of National Urban & Rhythm Promotion, Vice President of Urban & Rhythm Promotion and Senior Vice President overseeing all Urban Promotion.
