The Living Legends Awards show had established a rhythm and attendees looked forward to coming together every February to finally give these unsung heroes their due. In honor of #BlackMusicMonth & our 30th Anniversary, we are remembering our past awards dinners and honorees. We’re still in New York in 2008 and the event was a success. The honorees that year were:
Top row L-R: Jon Platt, Chairman & CEO of Sony Music Publishing, formerly President North America, Warner Chappell and President Creative, North America EMI Music Publishing; Jermaine Dupri, record producer, songwriter, rapper, DJ, entrepreneur, founder So So Def Records
2nd row L-R: Thea Mitchem, Executive Vice President of Programming at iHeartMedia & PD of Power 105 in NYC, home of The Breakfast Club; Kool & The Gang, legendary award-winning band who incorporated jazz, soul, funk, rock and pop and became major influences on global music
We honor their contributions to the music industry. Full bios will be at livinglegendsfoundation.com.
