Vanessa Gail Barryer took her love of music from Texas to New York to work for Arista Records as a National Director of R&B and Promotion. There were a couple of stops along the way for the Dallas native.  She began her career at KFRQ as a disc jockey in Longview, TX, later moving to KZEY in Tyler, Texas before making her way to The Big Apple.
While at Arista, Barryer worked hard and worked smart resulting in numerous accolades and awards. The industry vet who founded several foundations was one of the founding members of NABFEME, the National Association of Black Female Executives in Music and Entertainment.
Barryer attended school in Longview, Texas, and later moved to Beckville, Texas where she excelled in basketball and track in high school.  She was always known as the woman with a kind heart and a loving spirit.
