After I left WUFO in ‘98, I launched my own agency, Vision Multi Media Group, LLC, the parent company of my business today. Although the business was thriving, the call to WUFO could not be dismissed. I returned to the station in 2006 and was soon promoted to General Manager. Cathy Hughes was a mentor in my mind for years but I have to admit that tackling the day-to-day operations of the 58-year-old legacy radio station is what gave me the burning desire to one day own the radio station. Through prayer and preparation, that dream come true.
In 2018, I launched WUFO Black Radio History Collective Museum that actively displays 58 years of WUFO’s history. We’re proud of the great radio personalities who worked here in past years – Frankie Crocker, Gerry Bledsoe, Eddie O’Jay (he gave the O’Jays their name), Gary Byrd (he even composed songs with Stevie Wonder), Jeffrey Grant, the 1st DJ to play Rick James’ music “The Discotizer” Keith Pollard, Dwayne Dancer Donovan, Don Allen, Jimmy Lyons and Chucky T.
I’ve released 2 books – 29 Years of Preparation, a guide book designed to assist making one’s epic dreams come true and Sheila B’s Road to Success – “GPS” God’s Path to Success, a book of words of wisdom and business techniques designed to assist new business owners in accomplishing their dream of opening their business.
The proudest moment to date where I’ve felt that I made a substantial impact as an owner was when I took the radio station from AM sun-up/sun-down to a 24 hour FM radio station!
