Celebrating the Heroes of Black Music & Culture: Christine Cunningham

Today, the Living Legends Foundation is celebrating the Heroes of Black Music & Culture.

Join us in congratulating CHRISTINE CUNNINGHAM, veteran promotion and marketing executive, our recognized “Hero Behind The Culture”.

For the last forty years Christine has enjoyed a career in the industry in promotions, marketing, public relations and television production. She has promoted an array of artists in several genres including R&B, Rap, Hip Hop, Jazz and Gospel.

A month after graduating Cum Laude from Morris Brown College with a B.A. in Mass Communications, she landed her first job as a receptionist at WIGO Radio in Atlanta. She was quickly entrusted with other duties in traffic, bookkeeping and recording PSA voiceovers.

Christine transitioned to the label side of the business in National and Regional positions at SBK, EMI, Red Ant Entertainment, Restless Records, Kedar Entertainment, Sony Legacy and Primary Wave.

Christine is also a voice talent. In addition to radio spots, legendary radio programmer, Lyn Tolliver enlisted her as the voice of an animated character, Lisa Duck, the sister to Lyn’s main character, in the YouTube series, Quack E. Duck.

In 2023, Christine was inducted into the National Black Radio Hall of Fame in the Radio Promotions category.
