BMM 2021 – Our 2011 Honorees

Happy Juneteenth, as we remember our past awards dinners & honorees during #BlackMusicMonth and our 30th Anniversary!  We didn’t have a dinner in 2010 and came roaring back in 2011 The Highland Ballroom in NYC had been good to us and we were getting support from the labels and the music community.  Fred Buggs of KISS-FM was the host and we had 3 performances – Tiffany, Freddie Jackson and Melba Moore!  Mike Bernardo had taken over for Cynthia Badie as the event coordinator and the transition went smoothly.  Tell us what you remember!  The honorees in 2011 were:

L-R:  Russell Perry, President Perry Publishing & Broadcasting, Oklahoma City, Co-Publisher Black Dispatch newspaper, Oklahoma’s Secretary of Commerce and Secretary of Economic Development and Special Affairs;

Mathew Knowles, Ph.D, founder & CEO Music World Entertainment, artist manager, author, lecturer, podcaster “Mathew Knowles Impact” on iHeartRadio;     Skip Dillard, Vice President National/Community Partnerships at WBLS/WLIB NYC, formerly PD of WBLS/WLIB, member of the FCC’s Advisory Committee for Diversity and Digital Empowerment.

We honor their contributions to the music industry.  Full bios will be at livinglegendsfoundation.com.
