In celebration of #BlackMusicMonth & our 30th Anniversary, we remember the 1994 awards dinner.  We were once again at the Impact Super Summit at the Bally’s Park Place Casino Hotel in Atlantic City.  Vinny Brown was the Dinner Chairperson with a who’s who in the industry as Co-Chairs and on the Dinner Committee.  Cynthia Badie-Beard was the event coordinator who made sure that the event was a success and A&M/Perspective provided Four Real as the entertainment!  The honorees in 1994 were:

L-R: Emma Garrett, promotion manager at T.K. Records, Motown, Columbia, Manhattan/EMI; Dell Rice, PD KPRS & KUDL; Hal Jackson, 50 year radio pioneer and Exec Producer of the Talented Teens International competition

L-R: Martha Jean “The Queen” Steinberg, air personality WJLB, VP/GM WQBH Detroit & civil rights activist; Maxx Kidd, producer, pioneer of “Go Go” music & indie promotion man; Vaughn Harper, Quiet Storm personality WBLS NYC; Willie Mitchell, musician/producer

Some of these honorees are no longer with us but their contributions to the Black Music industry will never be forgotten.
