LLF Celebrate Board Members – David Linton

Today we celebrate board member David C. Linton, Chairman of the Living Legends Foundation and Program Director of Jazz 91.9 WCLK owned by Clark Atlanta University, one of the country’s leading Jazz stations.

David has been honored over the years for his many accomplishments in the record and broadcasting industries, as well as his civic and community endeavors.

As Senior Vice President R&B Promotion and Marketing at the legendary Capitol Records, Linton was selected by then-President Roy Lott to help return Capitol Records to the Black Music arena after a seven (7) year absence.

As Vice-President Black Music Promotions at Arista Records, then headed by the legendary Clive Davis, his efforts helped to make both Bad Boy Entertainment and LaFace Records become iconic brands in the music industry.

David has an M.A. in Instructional Media from Durham’s North Carolina Central University and a B.A. in Radio/TV/Film from Shaw University in Raleigh, N.C.  He began his radio career as an air personality in the Raleigh-Durham area.

The Foundation is eternally grateful to David for his leadership and expertise.
