BBM Profile: Andre & Lisa Fuller

Andre: My music career journey began as a college student working at Tower Records, as a manager, buyer, and Billboard reporter.

Thanks to the grace of God, I quickly moved up the ranks and made my debut @ MCA . But, working at Motown Records and Solar Records were extra special experiences for me. I admired Dick Griffey for always being a leader in this industry. He made it possible for so many of us to even have an opportunity in this business.

I’ve been blessed to work with so many great artists and people in my 20+ years in the industry. MCA, Solar, WEA, Warner Bros. Reprise, Motown(X2), RCA, BMG Entertainment, Universal Music Group and UCLA Extension. I’ve had various roles in the sales, marketing, radio and video promotion, A&R and publishing departments. Special Thanks to: Ray Harris, James Cochran, Tony Rice, Gaye Corn, Hank Caldwell, Nancy Pitts, Carolyn Griffey, Michael Johnson, Nancy Levin, Jheryl Busby, Ernie Singleton, Grace Newman, Gary O’Neal, Dick Griffey and Mr. Berry Gordy for the talks when I needed them. I wanted and got a complete music industry education.

Lisa: My music industry career began at Wherehouse Records, where I was a music buyer and Billboard reporter. I joined BMG as a black music product development coordinator, quickly transitioning into the role of regional sales rep. I worked with artists such as Whitney Houston, Janet Jackson, NSYNC, Backstreet Boys, TLC, Usher, Toni Braxton, Kenny G, Aretha Franklin, Tribe Called Quest & many more.

While working at BMG, I got my cosmetology license, and upon leaving the industry in 2003, Andre and I began implementing and executing our natural hair care vision and decided to move to Charlotte, NC.  We now have 2 salons and 2 salon suites locations in Charlotte, and we are in the process of launching our own hair care products under our Fuller Hair Care umbrella based in Los Angeles.

We are so grateful for our experiences and all of the people who have impacted our lives during our time in the industry, as it brought us together as one. We incorporate everything that we have learned into this next phase of our career.
